The carpets of this unique collection are created by the creative team of Azerkhalcha based on the design developed by Rufat Ismayil and inspired by the elements of ancient and rare examples of carpets belonging to Azerbaijan carpets called Achma-yumma, Garabagh, Nakhchivan, Ovchuluq, Pazyryk. They were released in a limited quantity - 25 copies each. This project has become another embodiment of the conceptual approach of synthesis of ancient traditions and modern trends. Each of these samples of modern carpet was donated to the collection of the National Carpet Museum in order to preserve, modernize and pass the cultural heritage on to future generations.
Rufat Ismayilov, more commonly known under the pseudonym of Rufat Ismayil, is an Azerbaijani fashion designer, model, entrepreneur and businessman. Rufat Ismayil is the founder of the AFFFAIR textile firm and the AFFFAIR brand, as well as the official fashion ambassador of Turkey and Azerbaijan on the world arena. He is the first Azerbaijani designer to have his collections shown at fashion weeks in Dubai, Istanbul, Tehran, Paris, Milan, Beirut, New York City, Florence, and Bucharest.
This "Pazyryk" work is generated from the central elements of the eponymous carpet that belongs to the Turkic lineage. It is considered the oldest carpet in the world (2500 years) and is kept in the State Hermitage Museum (Saint Petersburg, Russia).
Inspired by the lure of Garabagh's "Hunting" carpet patterns, the artist designed a series of artistic compositions reflecting the elements of the "Bandi-Rumi" composition, widely used in schools in the Middle East and Azerbaijan.
The "Achma-yumma" work is a part of a pattern complex from the "Achma-yumma" carpet series. These patterns are distinguished by their artistic features among the Garabagh carpets.
Elements of this work, distinguished by its beauty, originated from the "Garabagh" carpets. At first glance, this composition, consisting of repetitive elements, is lined up and immersed in the Milky Way that reflects the sky.
